A sports documentary released in early 2021, the film is a nostalgic journey into the history of competitive women’s surfing in Australia. The film aims to offer nostalgia, entertainment and relatability to an older audience who might be familiar with the story, but also aim to inspire female surfers of all ages. The aim of the brief was to establish the visual identity of the film, notably the film poster, but also the material that would aid the official trailer and social media campaign.

Final Key Art
Built on a strong collaboration with the producers and in-house marketing team, this was the poster that was established in being the most suitable concept to run for the campaign of the films release. The concept was built using a photo from the image archives used during the production of the film.
To capture the nostalgic tones of the film, I experimented with half-tone patterns, textures and gradients.
Official Trailer
The final art that was outputted for the official poster was later distributed as working files for the purpose of cutting together the film’s official trailer. Doing this allowed for consistency in the films brand as the artwork was now being shared amongst multiple production lines including Home Entertainment and Social Media.
Social Media Campaign

Cut together using clips from the trailer, this compilation video was used to showcase the positive feedback from people who reviewed the film positively on Twitter.
